Sevin Rosen Funds, an early-stage US technology venture capital firm, has expanded by two its team of general partners with the promotion of John Oxaal and the appointment of David McLean.
'John and Dave bring both operational experience and a deep understanding of technology that are the hallmark of Sevin Rosen Funds' partners,' said Steve Domenik, general partner. '2004 is shaping up to be an exciting year with the upcoming closing of Fund IX and a more robust industry environment.'
Oxaal joined Sevin Rosen funds in 1999 as an executive-in-residence. His areas of focus include semiconductors, imaging, computing, photonics, and RF communications. Prior to joining Sevin Rosen he co-founded and was CEO of Volumetrics Medical Imaging and was on the founding team of the Digital Signal Processing Division of Analog Devices.
McLean is a 20-year veteran of the semi-conductor and networking industry with experience in both the US and Asia. He has served with established companies such as IBM and also with start-ups such as Pliant Systems, Applied DWM and Cicada Semiconductor.
'Sevin Rosen Funds has the qualities I admire in a venture capital fund; operational experience, deep involvement with entrepreneurial teams and a long-term view,' said McLean. 'I am looking forward to lending my experience from the trenches to every stage of a company's growth.'
