Massimo Prelz Oltramonti joins GMT Communications Partners

European GMT Communications Partners has recruited Massino Prelz Oltramonti as a senior adviser and a member of the firm's investment committee.

'Massimo's familiarity in investing in the European media and telecoms sectors is unparalleled,' said Jeffrey Montgomery, a partner at GMT. 'He was one of the first, and is one of the most experienced, media and telecoms private equity professionals in Europe.'

Prelz Oltramonti was previously managing director at Advent International, where he spent eight years building and positioning the firm's European presence in investing in media and telecommunications. After leaving Advent international in 1999 he went on to become a special limited partner at Gilbert Global Equity Partner until 2001.

Since 2001, he has taken on a number of positions including chairman of Spanish telecommunications and data transmission carrier, Jazztel, director of Cybercity, an internet and broadband services provider in Denmark, and Adviser to DN Capital, a pan-European technology investor.
