US Quantum Energy Partners has announced the final close of its third fund with total commitments of $345m. The fund will invest between $10m and $50m in North American energy companies.
Quantum Energy Fund III will invest primarily in oil and gas businesses focussed on building their reserve base through acquisitions, exploitation and exploration. But the firm will also consider opportunities in the mid-stream, gas storage and independent power sectors.
Quantum Energy Partners currently manges in excess of $670m. Investors in the latest fund include General Motors Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, DuPont Capital Management Corporation, Duke University, Delta Airlines Benefit Trust, Stanford University, Verizon Investment Management Corporation, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and Morgan Stanley.
