US Austin Ventures hires Jim Janicki as entrepreneur-in-residence

US Austin Ventures has recruited Jim Janicki as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Janicki is the founder and former CEO of Austin-backed MetaSolv software.

Janicki will help to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in software and communications companies. He will also be looking for a company to lead as chief executive and to eventually take public, according to a report by VentureWire.

Austin Ventures has $2.4bn under management. The firm focuses on the enterprise software, computer and communications hardware and business services sectors.
