 Ian Finley, a co-founder of US Longworth Venture Partners, has left the firm to join Formation Systems as vice president of marketing. Formation Systems provides product-development software for manufacturers.
'Longworth is doing quite well, but I wanted to take my career out of venture capital and back into marketing,' Finley told VentureWire. 'After four years, it was time to go back into an operating role.'
Prior to the formation of Longworth, Finley managed product marketing at Open Market, an e-commerce software vendor. He has also served at Marcam Corporation, where he was an architect of the company's client-server software for process industries.
At Longworth, which invests in early-stage software and service companies, Finley served as a principal. Nilanjana Bhowmik will take over his role.
