 US-based BV-Cornerstone Ventures has recruited Bernie Brennan as a senior venture partner. The firm manages a $100m venture capital fund that invests in US expansion-stage companies with between $10m and $50m in revenues.
Brennan joins BV-Cornerstone following an extensive career in the retail, supplier and software industries. He spent 17 years as a CEO of several companies including Montgomery Ward, The Signature Group, Household Merchandising and Sav-A-Stop. He also served as the chairman of the National Retail Federation. More recently Brennan has served as a director, investor and consultant within a number of firms including Marketmax, Spotlight Solutions, Park City Group and Mac Global.
'We are thrilled to have an individual of Bernie's calibre join us as a senior venture partner in our fund,' said Neville Vere Nicoll, managing director of BV-Cornerstone Ventures. 'Our goal in working with Bernie is to invest in software companies that can benefit from his background in retail and distribution. We are particularly focused on software companies providing supply chain, price optimisation, business intelligence and analytics, retail management and CRM applications.'
