 US Versant Ventures has hired Bradley Bolzon as a managing director with responsibility for the biotechnology sector. Bolzon joins the healthcare venture capital firm from F.Hoffmann-La Roche, where he served as executive vice president and global head of business development.
'Brad Bolzon brings extraordinary experience from the pharmaceutical industry in the business development, corporate alliances and research areas. We are fortunate to have an industry executive with this breadth of experience join our biotech practice,' said Samuel Colella, managing director at Versant Ventures.
'His strong pharmaceutical sector and academic research credentials will be an excellent addition to Versant's biotech team, which already offers significant operational and industry insight to our portfolio companies and potential investment opportunities.'
Prior to his most recent role at Roche, Bolzon also held positions at Eli Lilly in drug discovery, business development, clinical research and regulatory affairs.
Versant Ventures currently manages in the region of $680m in committed capital. The firm has invested in more than 50 companies in the medical device, biotech, healthcare services and healthcare information technology sectors.
