US-based early-stage venture capital firm, The Aurora Funds, has recruited Grant Jackson as a senior associate. Jackson has joined the firm's life sciences team and will be responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities in the healthcare services and device industries. He will also support Aurora life sciences and healthcare portfolio companies.
'Grant has great business, investment and healthcare experience and a proven track record to back that up,' explained Jeff Clark, managing general partner of The Aurora Funds. 'That combination will enable him to make an immediate impact here at The Aurora Funds. His public and private company investment experience brings an added dimension to our firm.'
Prior to joining Aurora, Jackson worked with First Analysis Corporation, where he specialised in venture capital investments and public equity research in the healthcare services sector. He previously handled venture capital activities at Compaq Computer Corporation and was also a manager at Accenture.
The Aurora Funds raised its first fund in 1995 and recently closed its fourth fund on $85m. The firm currently manages a total of $155m for investment in early-stage life sciences and information technology companies.
