German mid-market private equity firm, Finatem, has announced the first closing of its second fund with E74m of commitments. The fund is targeting between E125m and E150m.
'We launched the fund earlier this year and are very pleased with the first stage of our fundraising campaign,' said Christophe Hemmerle, managing director and founding partner of Finatem.
Finatem invests in companies with an enterprise value of between E25m and E125m in German speaking countries. The firm has made five investments over the last three years, gaining exposure to the automotive, manufacturing and consumer sectors.
Its investment in Baerbel Drexel, a consumer healthcare company, represents the first investment to be made from the new fund. This transaction was valued at over E30m.
Investors in Finatem II include French, German and Austrian institutions, aswell as their French and German cornerstones.
