The Utah Capital Investment Corporation has announced the formation of its board of directors, one of two key bodies charged with overseeing and implementing Utah's $100m fund of funds, which was approved by the Utah State Legislature in 2003.
The five members appointed to serve on the board are high-tech entrepreneur Will West, American Express executive vice president and chief financial officer, Gary Crittenden, Utah Information Technology Association President and chief executive officer, Richard Nelson, retired venture capitalist Frank Trumbower and Geoff Woolley, founder of Dominion Ventures and European Venture Partners.
'Utah's fund of funds is a creative, workable solution that can help our high-tech companies overcome their toughest obstacle, obtaining funding,' said West. 'We have a wealth of good ideas in this state, and the fund of funds will help bring those good ideas to the attention of the venture capital community.'
