Scandinavian Life Science Venture hires Rigele Abilock as senior investment director

Scandinavian Life Science Venture (SLS), a Denmark-based venture capital firm, has recruited Rigele Abilock as senior investment director. Abilock will provide support to SLS portfolio companies concerning international strategy and perspective.

Abilock joins the firm from Maxygen, a developer of genes and proteins for the creation of improved human therapeutic products, where she served as a director of business development, according to a report by VentureWire. Abilock previously worked for Ariad Pharmaceuticals and Pangene Corporation.

SLS currently manages in the region of SEK2.2bn. Its most recent fund was raised in 2002 and its current portfolio includes 28 companies in the biotech, pharmaceutical and medtech industries.
