US-based Glenrock Group has recruited Alastair Short as managing director. Short joins from Matrix Global Investments where he was co-founder, president and chief operating officer.
'I am confident he will make an immediate contribution to the firm, and I am pleased to have him as part of our team,' said Lawrence Graev, Glenrock's founder and managing partner. 'His diverse hands-on experience in operating, investing and advising businesses adds to Glenrock's wide range of expertise and ability to serve its portfolio companies while increasing transaction capacity.'
Short previously served as vice president of Quadrex Securities, a privately held investment bank based in New York and London. He began his career as a lawyer at Roger & Wells.
'I am excited about joining Glenrock,' Short said. 'The firm is well positioned to take advantage of the many opportunities in private equity, from traditional buy-outs to growth investments. Glenrock can help companies grow by providing flexible investment capital, strategic support and first-class management.'
