US buy-out firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CDR) has recruited Christian Rochat as a partner based in the firm's London office. Rochat joins CDR from Morgan Stanley Capital Partners where he served as managing director.
Rochat was one of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners' three partners responsible for the European activities of the firm's buy-out funds. He was previously a director at Schroder Ventures (now Permira), where he was responsible for European business development.
'We are delighted to have someone of Christian's calibre join our firm,' said Donald Gogel, president and chief executive officer of CDR. 'Christian is a talented private equity professional with extensive experience in structuring and managing investments across Europe. We believe that Christian's cross-cultural business experience will be extremely valuable to the firm as we continue to evaluate and make investments resulting from the wave of corporate restructuring taking place in Europe.'
'We have a 26 year history of working with management teams to build long-term value by improving the business performance of the companies in which we invest,' added Robert Quarta, a CDR partner. 'Christian's background matches well with our investment strategy and commitment to build a team that can operate effectively across European markets.'
