US Broadcast Capital hires Hank Torbert to assist with fundraising

US Broadcast Capital has hired Hank Torbert as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Torbert will be responsible for the Broadcast Capital's investment operations and will manage the firm while it raises its new fund, Blackstar.

Blackstar will focus on small to medium-sized businesses and will concentrate on the media and telecommunications industries.

Torbert was previously the vice president in the financial sponsor group for middle-market banking at JPMorgan Chase, with a particular focus on the media, healthcare and consumer products sectors.

'I am excited to have Hank Torbert join our management team,' said John Oxendine, Broadcast's president and chief executive officer. 'He brings a fresh perspective, new energy and strong credentials which will be very important as we recreate and recapitalise the firm for the new millennium.'
