Engelfield and Electra acquire UK-based Global Solutions for £207.5m

Engelfield Capital and Electra Partners Europe have acquired Global Solutions (GSL) for £207.5m. GSL is Danish Group 4 Falck's UK-based facilities management division.

GSL's service offering includes custodial services such as prison management, escorting, immigration and custody and training, as well as business services such as utilities and office accommodation. The company also supports public services such as healthcare, education and local authority services.

'We are delighted to have acquired GSL today. We will provide a solid institutional shareholder base to assist in the company's future development,' said Dominic Shorthouse of Engelfield and Nigel McConnell of Electra Partners Europe. 'We believe that the acquisition by Engelfield Capital and Electra Partners Europe is a very positive milestone in GSL's development for its customers, management and employees.'

Global Solutions is being sold as part of the Danish security service group's £1.7bn merger with Securicor. The company is also planning to sell its safety and rescue operation.
