Austrian technology venture capital firm, gamma capital partners, has announced the final closing of its second fund with E17.5m. The firm now manages a total of E38m for investment in the ICT and life sciences industries.
'The successful closing of gamma II is an important step in our endeavour to become a prime source of finance for dynamic growth companies at the increasingly fragmented bottom-end of the market in our geographical focus area of Germany, Austria and Switzerland,' said Oliver Grabherr, gamma capital managing partner.
Investors in the fund include Investkredit Bank, and Raiffeisen-Landesbank Oberosterreich, APK Pensionskasse and Regional Bank Sparkasse Schwaz.
'With our strong local base, we are able to seek out the most attractive early-stage opportunities in our geographical focus and be a trusted syndication partner for later rounds,' said Hannes Ambacher and Klaus Matzka, managing partners of the fund. 'Within the past two years we have shown that Austria harbours a plethora of attractive investment opportunities, which in turn convinced our investors of our ability to generate attractive returns.'
