Duke Street Capital, the UK-based private equity group, has announced the appointment of David Williams as operating partner, with a particular focus on consumer facing industries. His most recent role was as chief executive of Thresher Group.
'This is a great time to be joining Duke Street,' said Williams. 'They have invested in some really successful businesses and they have a genuine desire to develop their retail and consumer interests further. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to work with the team on both existing portfolio companies as well as on new investments.'
Prior to joining Threshers in 2001 Williams was chairman of Slug & Lettuce as well as head of Burger King in Europe and the Middle East. He was also previously chief executive officer of Pizza Hut in the UK. Williams' appointment follows the recent announcement of three other additions to Duke Street's growing team of operating partners.
'We are delighted to welcome David aboard,' said Peter Taylor, chief executive of Duke Street Capital. 'Our operating partners play a vital part in our deal programme, from origination through to exit, adding value at every step of the way. David's experience of consumer facing businesses is second to none and we look forward to working together to capitalise on his expertise.'
