Portuguese Espírito Santo Capital, the private equity arm of Banco Espírito Santo Group, and French Sigefi Private Equity, the management company of Siparex Group, are launching a cross-border Iberian-French private equity fund. SES Iberian Fund I will invest in middle-market companies in Spain, Portugal and France. The fund is targeting a total of E50m.
The fund is expected to make approximately 50 per cent of its investments in Spain, 30 per cent in Portugal and the remaining 20 per cent in the Southwest of France. The fund will invest in companies with revenues of between E10m and E100m in a wide range of sectors.
Banco Espírito Santo Group is the second largest private financial group in Portugal. Espírito Santo Capital manages in the region of E80m to invest in Iberian mid-cap private equity deals. Sigefi Private Equity currently manages E813m committed by investors including SEB, Michelin, Caisses d'Epargne, Crédit Agricole, Caisse des Dépôts and Médéric.
