UK private equity firm Terra Firma has sold Wizard Inns to Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries for £96.7m.
'Wizard has been an outstandingly successful investment,' said Guy Hands, Terra Firma chief executive. 'Started in 1997, it has grown organically to become a well-recognised player in this market. I am sure it will go on to further success under new ownership.'
Terra Firma closed its debut fund on E2bn in January this year. The firm was originally targeting E3bn but later conceded that that figure was unrealistic in today's fundraising environment.
