Gemini Israel Funds has recruited Carmel Sofer as a venture partner. Sofer joins the firm from wireless and communications company Comverse Europe where he served as president. During his time at Comverse he also founded a subsidiary company, Starhome.
'Our venture partner programme is bringing some really interesting deals to us and enabling our portfolio companies to tap the experience of people who have already been there and succeeded,' said Gemini general managing partner Yossi Sela. 'We are delighted that Carmel Sofer has joined our team. One of the outstanding aspects of his success at Comverse was his focus on the company's team and teamwork, so he will fit in well at Gemini and contribute greatly to the portfolio.'
'It is a real pleasure to be joining Gemini, with its strong brand and reputation,' added Sofer. 'I look forward to leveraging my professional experience both as an entrepreneur and as a senior executive in a world-leading corporation in identifying strong portfolio candidates and helping those companies to grow and become world leaders.'
