Marc Thiery is to join UK-based buy-out firm Englefield Capital from Allianz Private Equity Partners where he served as a managing director. He will join founding partners Dominic Shorthouse, Etienne de Villiers, Eric Walters, Adam Barron and Edmund Lazarus.
'We are delighted that we have been successful in attracting someone of Marc's quality to our firm,' said Shorthouse. 'Marc is a talented private equity professional with extensive experience in structuring and managing investments across Europe. We believe that Marc's German and pan-European business expertise will be extremely valuable as we continue to evaluate and make investments in Europe.'
Thiery was previously a member of the buy-out team at both Morgan Stanley Capital Partners and Apax Partners.
'I am delighted to join Englefield which has impressed me with its pool of highly talented and experienced professionals, its deep network and distinctively professional approach in executing mid-market transactions. With the perspective of my prior positions, I believe that Englefield is emerging as one of the most interesting buy-out and development capital firms in the European mid-market.'
Englefield Capital currently manages over E700m in capital. The firm invests between E20m and E100m in middle market companies across Europe, generally with enterprise values of between E50m and E400m.
