Deloitte has lost a 16-strong private equity team to its rival KPMG. Rustom Kharegat, Deloitte's partner in charge of UK and European private equity transaction services, has made the move along with Helen Pratten, Robert Ohrenstein and John Oldcorn, who will become partners in the private equity group, and their 12-strong support team.
The team has worked on a number of major European buy-outs including the E3.2bn buy-out of Voyager Pubs, and the E2.6bn take private of Debenhams, as well as the high profile Bertelsmann Springer, Gala Group, Travelodge and Veba Electronics transactions.
KPMG also announced the appointment of Johannes Weiler, formerly a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, as transactions services partner specialising in private equity in Germany.
