US Clearstone Venture Partners has recruited Cecilia Claudio as an executive in residence. Claudio will operate from the firm's Silicon Valley office and will advise partners on investment selection, portfolio company management and overall industry direction.
'Based on her rich experience and her membership on advisory boards for companies including Cisco, Siebel and IBM, Cecilia will play an important role in advising our firm on enterprise trends that create significant investment opportunities,' said Erik Lassila, managing director of Clearstone. 'Cecilia is a respected industry veteran and we are excited for her to join our team.'
Claudio joins the firm from Zurich Financial Services where she served as executive vice president and CIO. She was previously president and CIO of ANTHEM.

Clearstone Venture Partners invests in Californian software, enterprise infrastructure, storage, communications, security, wireless, semiconductors, advanced optics and consumer and business internet companies. The firm currently manages in the region of $450m. Investors in Clearstone's funds include CalPERS, Goldman Sachs, HarbourVest, Horsley Bridge, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, MIT and The State of Michigan.
