US Prospect Partners closes $165m private equity fund

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUS Prospect Partners has closed its second fund with $165m of commitments. Prospect Partners Fund II will focus on making investments in lower middle-market companies with niche strategies.

Investors in the fund include Goldman Sachs, General Motors Investment Management Corporation, JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management, the University of Notre Dame, Wilshire Associates, Private Advisors and the Northern Trust Corporation.

'We are very pleased with the reception Fund II received,' said Richard Tuttle, a Prospect Partners co-founder and principal. 'We are grateful for the terrific support from such a high-quality group of investors. We believe that the market environment continues to be quite favourable for identifying and investing in the small niche leaders that have been our historical focus.'

Like its predecessor, Prospect Partners Fund II will focus on investing in companies within a variety of niche consumer, commercial, speciality distribution and service markets throughout the US.
