European mezzanine finance firm Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) has announced two new fund management marketing appointments. James Barham joins as marketing director and Alex Hayes-Newington joins as marketing manager.
'These appointments reflect the growing demand for specialist debt products from institutional investors,' said Andrew Phillips, head of fund management at ICG. 'Pension funds are increasingly having to manage their risk budgets more efficiently to increase returns and at the same time diversify risk.'
'Corporate credit risk below the investment grade level represents an exciting opportunity in this respect. James Barham and Adam Hayes-Newington have specialist expertise working with investment consultants and institutional investors and they will be central in connecting ICG with the growing demand,' he added.
Both Barham and Hayes-Newington join ICG from Liontrust Asset Management where Barham was a founding partner and institutional marketing director and Hayes-Newington was institutional marketing manager. Barham was previously regional sales manager for James Capel Asset Management and Hayes-Newington was previously an account manager at Baring Asset Management.
'At a time when these markets are increasingly broadening their search for alpha, often in those asset classes historically used for liability matching purposes, we strongly believe that what ICG has to offer is very exiting and we look forward to working with consultants and institutional investors to develop our ideas further,' Barham commented.
