The combined entity, to be known as Strathdon Investments, has joined the junior Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Strathdon was founded in 1997. The firm invests between £50,000 and £2m in established and start-up technology companies in the UK and US.

'The merger will enable shareholders to participate in the long-term returns of venture investing combined with the short-term performance and liquidity of a quoted portfolio,' the two firms said in a statement.

The INVESCO techMARK Enterprise Trust was launched in 2000 and its portfolio consists primarily of public companies in the IT and healthcare sectors. Strathdon's management team will be taking on executive management of the new group, but the board will include representatives from both sides. INVESCO Asset Management will continue to manage the quoted portfolio.
