Pomona Capital has recruited Mark McDonald as an investment associate based in the firm's London office. McDonald's appointment strengthens Pomona's European team at a time of increased activity in the European private equity secondaries market.
McDonald started his career with Barclays Capital in investment banking teams in the UK, Continental Europe and Asia Pacific, and has since spent three years providing investment, advisory and strategy services to private equity firms in Europe.
'Mark has joined during an exciting period of growth in Pomona's European business,' said Brian Wright, Pomona director in Europe. 'We believe Mark's extensive experience and background will make a significant contribution to our goal of being the buyer of choice for quality private equity assets.'
Pomona Capital manages over $2.4bn in assets in five secondary interest funds and three primary interest fund of funds. The firm owns interests in over 190 private equity funds across the entire spectrum of private equity, with investments in over 1,400 portfolio companies.
