 US early-stage information technology venture firm, American River Ventures, has announced the final close of American River Ventures I with $100m. The oversubscribed fund included commitments from new investors as well as significantly increased commitments from existing LPs.
'We were gratified by the support of our existing investors, led by CalPERS,' said Corley Phillips, general partner. 'They have observed our investment progress first-hand, and many like what they saw so much they elected to increase their commitment to our fund.'
American River Ventures has also announced the appointment of Dr. Ilkan Cokgor as an associate. Cokgor joins the firm from Ridgewood Capital where he served as a senior vice president, responsible for venture capital investments in communications, networking and information technology.
