Carlyle Group is understood to be nearing an exit from its investment in German car components manufacturer Honsel International Technologies. US-based Ripplewood is understood to be in exclusive talks with the firm to acquire the company for in the region of E700m.
Ripplewood is thought to have won exclusivity in the final stages of the auction against two competing offers from private equity firms, including one from Questor Management.
Other groups that were interested in Honsel include EQT and JP Morgan Partners, according to a report in the Financial Times.
