Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityRobin Doumar, head of European mezzanine finance at Goldman Sachs, has left the firm to launch an independent mezzanine fund. He will be joined by David Cottam, the head of international equity capital markets at BNP Paribas.

Doumar and Cottam are to set a target of E1bn for the fund. Two thirds of the total commitments are expected to be raised from just two limited partners, Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec and Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, which are both keen to increase their exposure to the asset class, according to Financial News.

If successful, the fund would represent Europe's largest ever independent mezzanine fund.
