 Standard Chartered Private Equity has appointed Fan Chen as managing director and head of Greater China. He will be responsible for the firm's activities in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Chen joins the company from Uni-Quantum Capital, a private equity and investment banking firm with offices in Beijing and Hong Kong, where he served as chief executive officer. He was previously with China International Capital Corporation and BOCI Asia.
'Chen's experience and stellar track record are invaluable to our growth strategy in Greater China, which is a critical market for the bank's private equity business,' said Kuram Butalia, the firm's global head. 'We are now positioned to increase our presence in Greater China and also to better assist other portfolio companies in this important region.'
