Derek Lemke-von Ammon has joined US venture capital firm FTVentures as a partner. He will be responsible for the firm's development efforts with its strategic investors.
Lemke-von Ammon was previously a founder and director of private equity at Thomas Weisel Partners. Prior to this he was a senior managing director and director of private equity with Montgomery Securities.
'We have known Derek for more than 15 years and are delighted that in joining FTVentures he is rejoining several former colleagues from his Montgomery years to take on this vital role in our firm,' said Jim Hale, managing partner. 'The relationships with our strategic investors are central to our successful strategy, and through these relationships we add significant value to our portfolio companies. With Derek now on board, the strength of our team has been further increased.'
FTVentures was founded in 1998 and invests primarily in private companies developing products and services for the global financial services sector. It currently has in excess of $623m under management.
