 US Core Capital Partners has recruited telecommunications veteran Tom Wheeler as a special partner. Wheeler recently retired as president and chief executive officer of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) and will assist Core Capital in identifying and pursuing new technology investment opportunities.
Prior to his work at CTIA, Wheeler was a telecommunications entrepreneur who founded and helped develop several companies both domestically and internationally. He also served as president of the National Cable Television Association.
Core Capital is a $170m private equity fund that provides between $2m and $10m of capital to both early-stage ventures and small to mid-sized growth companies that are seeking to develop or incorporate disruptive technologies into their businesses.
