Five groups of private equity firms are believed to be considering offers for PPR's 74 per cent stake in electrical retailer Rexel. The stake is worth in the region of E1.7bn.
CVC Capital Partners is to team up with Cinven and Bain Capital in a bid to win the company. They will be competing against a rival consortium comprising Permira and Blackstone, according to Les Echos.
PAI and BC Partners are also to join forces in an attempt to buy the company. Clayton Dubilier & Rice and Carlyle will each submit individual offers.
