 US Western Technology Investment has announced the final close its eleventh venture debt fund with $500m of commitments. The firm now has over $1bn under management.
The fund will continue the Western Technology's strategy of venture lending to start-up and emerging growth companies in the communications, life sciences, software and semiconductor industries.
Since its inception in 1980, Western Technology Investments has committed over $1.6bn to more than 600 companies. The firm's portfolio companies include Google, Juniper Networks, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, Cerent and Brocade.
