US Vestar Capital Partners has reportedly agreed to acquire Dockers, a casual clothing brand of Levi Strauss, for around $800m. The private equity firm has joined forces with Eric Rothfeld, a clothing industry veteran, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Dockers sales generate annual revenues of around $1.4bn, but fell by 26 per cent in the second quarter of this year.
Vestar was founded in 1998 and has completed 45 investments in companies with a total value exceeding $15bn. The firm currently manages funds totalling around $4bn.
