The major shareholders of Autobahn Tank & Rast - Allianz Capital Partners, Lufthansa and funds advised by Apax Partners - have entered into a definitive agreement to sell their shares to Terra Firma.
In 2003 Autobahn Tank & Rast, which operates service stations alongside the German motor highway network, generated revenues of €206. Since the privatisation in 1998, management has strengthened the operating business in close cooperation with its shareholders by investing into the company's infrastructure and network quality.
Dr. Karl-H. Rolfes, CEO of Autobahn Tank & Rast said, "our company is very well-positioned today and we are looking forward to jointly pursuing our successful work together with Terra Firma." The proposed transaction is subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
As a result of the transaction, Autobahn Tank & Rast announced that it will discontinue the preparation of an IPO of its shares for a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
