Petri Niemi has been promoted to take over as head of CapMan's Nordic Technology Business Unit with effect from the start of 2005. He will also become a member of CapMan's Nordic Steering Group.
Niemi joined the company in 1999 and has specialised in investments in IT and communications. Prior to CapMan he worked at L M Ericsson, 3Com and Sun Microsystems Oy.
Niemi acted previously as the deputy of senior partner Lennart Jacobsson, who is the current head of CapMan's Nordic Technology Business Unit.
Jacobsson will carry on with his other responsibilities. Senior partner Lars Hagdahl has been appointed to deputy head of CapMan's Nordic Technology Business Unit.
Ari Tolppanen, CEO of CapMan Plc, said, 'The earlier track record and the portfolio that has been created during Lennart's leadership create very solid ground for our future operations.
'Petri and his deputy Lars are very well positioned to further develop the technology practise together with the whole team, to create value to the current portfolio and to make new investments,' Tolppanen continued.
CapMan's latest technology investment was made earlier this week to Swedish Animex AB, which provides industrial automation and IT solutions for the plastics industry.
CapMan has offices in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo. To date, the funds managed by CapMan have invested in 147 companies in the Nordic countries and exited from 67 companies.
