Crescent Capital Investments (Europe), the European private equity arm and subsidiary of Bahrain-based First Islamic Investment Bank B.S.C. (c), and First Islamic are changing their names to Arcapita.
Arcapita's chief executive officer, Atif Abdulmalik, said, 'Uniting our businesses under a single brand is a key part of our strategy to evolve into a truly international financial institution.'
'We believe that a strong unified brand will allow us to build on our established relationships with shareholders, investors and business partners and maintain our track record of delivering innovative investment opportunities that generate superior returns,' Abdulmalik added.
The consolidated group recently announced net income of $70.5m for the year ended 31 December 2004.
Crescent Europe has completed more than €1.5bn of transactions since 2002. With offices in Bahrain, Atlanta and London, Arcapita's three principal lines of business are corporate investment, real estate and asset-based investment.
