European private equity firm Industri Kapital is broadening its senior management group by adding Christopher Masek, partner responsible for IK's French activities and Detlef Dinsel, partner responsible for the firm's German activities. This brings the total number of senior executives to six.
French national Christopher Masek joined IK in 2000 from KPMG Corporate Finance in Paris, where he was a founding partner. Detlef Dinsel, a German national, came to IK in 1996 after a consultant career with Bain.
The firm has also promoted Trygve Grindheim, Kristiaan Nieuwenburg and James Yates to partners. 'The promotions come following a busy 2004 in which IK announced four investments and seven realisations, returning a total of €814m of cash proceeds,' the firm said in a statement.
Industri Kapital, with Nordic roots, manages close to €4bn in fund commitments from Nordic, European and International institutional investors. Since 1989, Industri Kapital has acquired 50 European companies. The current portfolio encompasses 25
companies with a total turnover in excess of €9bn.
Only in December last year, IK already had a wave of promotions when Dan Soudry, Helena Stjernholm, Rémi Buttiaux, Klaus de Vibe, Kristian Kemppinen, Anders Petersson and Caspar von Meibom were promoted.
