Advent International has acquired AIRCOM International - a provider of wireless network planning, optimisation and performance management products and services to mobile telecoms operators - from management and Nokia. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. AIRCOM's activities comprise two main business areas: software solutions and high-end engineering services. The company currently provides products and services to 264 customers in 115 countries. AIRCOM is and will remain a supplier to Nokia.
John Bernstein, director who led the deal for Advent International and who joins the Aircom board, said, 'As networks become increasingly complex, so operators need increasingly specialised tools and services to help them maintain operational efficiency. AIRCOM is ideally positioned to capitalise on this opportunity and presents a fantastic platform for growth. We are very much looking forward to working alongside Steve, Philip and the rest of this pioneering management team.'
Advent International has also agreed to purchase CCS Ceská spolecnost pro platební karty a.s., a provider of fuel cards and related fleet services for business in the Czech and Slovak Republics, from JPMorgan Asset Management and individual founding shareholders. Although the financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed experts estimate it values around $80m.
