An Apax Partners-led consortium has offered DKK355 (€48) per share for the Danish telecommunications provider TDC, according to the Financial Times. The consortium includes Permira, The Blackstone Group, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Providence Equity Partners. TDC, the former Tele Danmark, does not have one shareholder with a controlling interest. The company is traded on the stock exchanges in New York, London and Copenhagen.
TDC is expected to also attract interest from other private equity firms. Another private equity consortium, comprising Cinven, BC Partners, Apollo Management and Silver Lake Partners reportedly has plans to bid for TDC.
Trade buyers reportedly interested in TDC include Swiss telecommunications company Swisscom.
Experts have different opinions on how likely it is that a deal will happen. TDC has not commented yet.
