 European Capital has closed on the offering of €750m of equity commitments. An aggregate of €229m of equity commitments were provided by third-party institutional investors, with the balance coming from American Capital Strategies, European Capital's affiliate.
European Capital expects to draw down the equity commitments over an approximately two-year period to fund investments and operations in the ordinary course of business.
The firm will invest in and sponsor management and employee buy-outs, invest in private equity buy-outs and provide capital directly to private and mid-sized public companies.
