US private equity firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst has renamed itself HM Capital Partners and has made changes to its senior management. John R Muse, chairman of HM Capital, said about the new name that it 'honours the past but points to the future - a name that will serve us well over the long term.'
HM Capital has also announced the promotion of three members of its investment team. Edward Herring, Eric Lindberg and Jason H Downie have been promoted to the position of partner.
'I am delighted to welcome Edward, Eric and Jason to a strong partnership,' said Muse. 'Over the past several years, all three have made major contributions to the successful implementation of our sector-focused, change capital investment strategy - from origination and financing to monitoring and performance enhancement and, ultimately, to realisation.'
The new partners join a senior investment team that also includes Jack D Furst, Peter S Brodsky, Joe Colonnetta and Andrew S Rosen.
Muse, along with Thomas O Hicks, formed Hicks, Muse & Co. in 1989. The firm changed its name to Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in 1994 to reflect the roles of Charles Tate and Jack Furst.
Tate retired from the firm in June 2002 and Hicks in January 2005.
