Unigestion hires Jean-François Hirschel as head of global marketing16/01/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
Swiss alternative investment manager Unigestion has appointed Jean-François Hirschel as head of global marketing, a newly created role at the firm. Hirschel began his career in 1993 in the Performance Measurement and Client Reporting group of Paribas Asset Management. In 1997 he was promoted to deputy director of the Middle Office department and was also in charge of US client servicing.
In 1998 he joined SG Asset Management as head of performance measurement and client reporting. Four years later he added institutional marketing to his responsibilities before being named head of the new marketing, product development and reporting department in April 2003. He became a member of the Executive Committee in May 2005.
Unigestion's chairman Bernard Sabrier said, 'Establishing the role of head of global marketing further demonstrates our dedication to innovation, performance and client understanding, and I am extremely happy that Jean-François Hirschel will be working with us to continue to build on Unigestion's core values.'
Unigestion focuses on five areas of activity: minimum variance (quantitative equity management), funds of hedge funds, private equity funds of funds, multimanagement and fixed income.
