Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners, Warburg Pincus to sell UGS Corp. to Siemens

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityBain Capital, Silver Lake Partners and Warburg Pincus have agreed to sell UGS Corp., a Texas, US-based provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and services, to Siemens. Siemens will acquire the business for $3.5bn, including the assumption of existing debt.

UGS is a supplier to customers in the automotive, aerospace and defence, consumer goods, electronics, and machinery industries worldwide. UGS has a global workforce of 7,300.

Bain Capital is a private investment firm with approximately $40bn in assets under management.

Silver Lake Partners is a private equity firm focused solely on making large-scale investments in technology companies.

Warburg Pincus invests in a range of sectors including financial services, technology, media and telecommunications, energy, real estate healthcare, LBOs and special situations, and business services.
