Sovereign Capital hires George Williams as investment manager

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUK private equity fund manager Sovereign Capital has appointed George Williams as investment manager. This appointment brings the number of investment professionals at Sovereign to 18.

Prior to joining Sovereign, Williams worked for eight years at KPMG, most recently spending four years in their Corporate Finance Private Equity Advisory Team, advising clients in the support services and financial services sectors. He was part of the team that advised Sovereign on its investment in CMGL in September 2005, and this resulted in him being seconded to Sovereign in January 2006.

Sovereign focuses on investing in lower mid-market companies requiring £5-20m of equity. The firm has specific expertise in sectors including: healthcare services, education and training, financial services outsourcing and various sub-sectors within the support services sector.
