Milestone changes name to Blackstreet

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUS private equity firm Milestone Capital Management has changed its name to Blackstreet Capital Management and relocated its office to Bethesda, Maryland from Washington, DC to mark the final step in Milestone Capital Management's separation from Milestone Merchant Partners.

The separation of the two businesses was initiated in January 2005.

Murry N Gunty, managing partner of Blackstreet, said, 'We will always be grateful to Milestone Merchant Partners for helping us form our firm, and, if possible, look forward to working with them in the future.'

With $88m of capital under management Blackstreet focuses on control buy-outs of companies that are either underperforming, in out-of-favour industries or are undergoing some form of transition.

Blackstreet invests across various industry sectors including manufacturing/distribution, business services, specialty retail, restaurants and healthcare.
