American Securities Capital Partners opens Shanghai office

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityAmerican Securities Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm that invests in mid-market companies in North America, has opened an office in Shanghai, China. The new office is expected to support ASCP portfolio companies with sourcing, supply chain optimisation and access to Asian markets.

The Shanghai office currently has five full-time employees and is led by ASCP's director of Asia-Pacific operations, Jun 'Jim' Tao. Tao previously held several senior executive roles at General Electric, in both the US and China.

Tao said, 'Through direct communication and cultural alignment, we can provide ASCP's US-headquartered portfolio companies with enhanced supplier relationships and an easier path to managing Asian sourcing, logistics and quality control.'

ASCP's portfolio companies include Oreck, Robertson Aviation, Weasler Engineering, El Pollo Loco and Press Ganey.
