Nordic firm CapMan to acquire Walki Wisa from UPM26/02/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
Nordic private equity firm CapMan has agreed to acquire Walki Wisa Group, a European producer of wrappings and composite materials for industrial applications, from forest industry group UPM-Kymmene Corporation for an undisclosed amount. Walki Wisa has production facilities in Finland, Sweden, Germany, the UK and China. Its products are used in industries including the paper, metal and packaging industries. The company's net sales totalled €287m in 2006. It employs 950 people, of which 600 are employed in Finland.
CapMan will make the investment from its CapMan Buyout VIII and CapMan Mezzanine IV funds.
CapMan manages Nordic buy-out, mezzanine, technology, life science and real estate funds with approximately €2.9bn in capital under management. The firm employs around 100 people in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo.
